KDIPA cooperates with Dubai FDI for free zones management

Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) cooperated with Dubai FDI, an agency of the Department of Economic Development – Government of Dubai, on January 18-19, 2017, to organize meetings between KDIPA and both governmental and non-governmental organizations concerned with managing free zones in Dubai.

The cooperation was based on the council of ministers’ decision of placing Kuwait’s free zones under the management and supervision of KDIPA. This cooperation included identifying the types of free zones established in Dubai and benefiting from their experiences with the aim to ensure the diversification of the economy through effective management of the free zones.

KDIPA was represented by Mr. Mohammad Yaqoub, Assistant Director General for Business Development, Eng. Saleh Al-Mutairi, Director of the Economic Zones and Eng. Abdulaziz Al-Mutairi from the economic zones.

The delegation also visited several entities like Tecom Group, who manages Dubai Media City, Dubai Internet City and Dubai International Financial Center to learn from the challenges these entities faced and know their success stories.
