KDIPA participated in the seventh meeting of the Kuwait-UK Joint Steering Group

Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) participated as part of the Kuwaiti delegation to the seventh bi-annual meeting of the Kuwait-UK Joint Steering Group chaired by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Khalid Al Jarallah, and Minister of State for Middle East Affairs Mr. Tobias Ellwood MP held during the period November 25-26, 2015 in Kuwait.  KDIPA was represented by the Director General of KDIPA, Sheikh Dr. Meshaal Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah, who heads the Trade & Investment sub-group during these proceedings, along with Ms. Reem Al Shaya, Head of International Agreements Section. In the meeting, both parties agreed on a number of initiatives to  further enhance the underlining collaboration covering healthcare and education; the exchange of knowledge in regards to intellectual property; the signing of an MoU between KDIPA and the Kuwait British Business Centre; the exchange of monthly trade statistics; the participation of Britain in the upcoming “Kuwait International Trade Fair” scheduled to be held February 2016; and the approval by the British parliament of the signed bilateral treaty for the protection & encouragement of Investment between the two countries in order for it to enter into force. The meeting concluded by the signing of an action plan of the key milestones for cooperation over the next six months. The eighth Joint Steering Group meeting will take place in London in six months’ time.
