Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) participated in the BF6 | Summit Kuwait 2017 organized by the American Business Council Kuwait (ABCK) along with the German Business Council Kuwait (GBCK), British Business Forum (BBF), French Business Council Kuwait (FBCK), the Australian Business Group Kuwait (AusBG) and the Canadian Business Council (CBC). For the first time in Kuwait, these councils joined forces to host a panel discussion with their respective Diplomats on doing business in Kuwait. The event was held in the Drama Hall of the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre, on April 19, 2017.
H.E. Sheikh Dr Meshaal Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah, Director General for Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA), led the discussion on changes the country has implemented to make it easier for companies to do business in Kuwait. The remaining panelists were the US Ambassador Lawrence Silverman, Austrian Ambassador HE Sigurd Pacher, Swiss Ambassador HE Aldo DeLuca, Mr. Ruediger Zettel, Deputy Head of Mission, German Embassy, Mr. Philippe Galli, Head of Economic Department for the French Embassy, Australian Ambassador HE Warren Hauck, Canadian Ambassador HE Martine Moreau and Mr. James McGuire, First Secretary Defence and Security at the British Embassy Kuwait.
Close to 400 people from more than 75 foreign companies representing all market segments attended the event. The panelists answered questions on the many opportunities and challenges companies may face when doing business in Kuwait.
