KDIPA cooperated with the Business Year (TBY) to organize the event “Kuwait: Towards a Digital Economy” held in the Four Seasons Hotel Kuwait on March 8th, 2023.
TBY Regional Director Mrs. Ioana Popas opened the event and gave a welcoming speech and presenting the attributes of Kuwait and the potential investment opportunities that contribute to support economic diversification, sustainability, and the role of the private sector in Kuwait.
The event consisted of two panels focusing on showcasing ‘Kuwait: Towards a Digital Economy’.
The first panel focused on “Fintech and the Future of Finance”; the participating panelists included Sheikh Ahmad al Duaij Al-Sabah, Chairman of the Kuwait Banking Association & Chairman of the Commercial Bank of Kuwait, Mr. Abdullah Nabil Alsenan, Vice President of Insurance Regulatory Unit (IRU) Kuwait, and Mr. Ali Al-Fulaij, COO of Rasameel.
The second panel focused on “Innovation and SMEs as the Backbone of Kuwait’s Growth”; the panelists included Mr. Khalifah Al Yaqout, Managing Partner of Al-Yaqout & Al-Fouzan Legal Group, Mr. Bader Al-Ghanim, Managing Director of Talabat Kuwait, and Abdulaziz B. Al-Loughani, CEO of Floward.
In addition to a keynote speech addressed to the audience of the event by H.E. Mazin Saad Al-Nahedh, Minister of commerce and industry & Minister of State for Communication & Information Technology and Mr. Abdulwahab Issa Al-Rushood, Acting Group CEO of Kuwait Finance House.
KDIPA was represented by Mr. Mohammed Yousef Mulla Yaqoub، Assistant Director General for Business Development, and Dr. Barjas Faleh Mohammad Al-Hajri, Assistant Director General for Financial & Administrative Affairs.
