Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) reaffirmed the importance of the ‘Kuwait Investment Forum’, which will be held in its second edition from March 20 to 21 under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, in supporting efforts aimed at boosting the competitiveness of Kuwait’s economy and improving its business environment.
In a statement issued by the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) on Monday, Ali Al-Ghanim, Chairman of KCCI, praised H.H. the Amir’s agreement to patronize and attend the forum, pointing out that it reflects his deep and special interest in economic and investment issues.
Al-Ghanim added that H.H. the Amir’s patronage of the forum, which will be held jointly by KDIPA and KCCI, reaffirms the government’s interest in promoting and facilitating value added investments into the Kuwaiti economy.
He explained that the forum will bring together Kuwait’s private sector with a large group of foreign investors interested in investing in Kuwait’s dynamic market, pointing out that it is a suitable opportunity to highlight the promising investment opportunities in the public and private sectors.
For his part, the Director General of KDIPA, Sheikh Dr. Meshaal Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, said that the forum supports the realization of the pillars of the national vision 2035, especially the one focusing on “the private sector leading economic activity.”
Sheikh Meshaal added that H.H. the Amir does not miss any opportunity that supports the Kuwaiti economy, pointing out his highness’ keenness and support to face all the rapid economic developments that the world is witnessing, while stressing the importance of combining the government’s concerted efforts with the private sector to ensure the success of the Forum.
The first ‘Kuwait Investment Forum’ was held in March 2016 under the patronage of H.H. the Amir and was KDIPA’s first promotional conference, held against the backdrop of the positive developments the Kuwaiti economy was witnessing, which became the focus of investors’ attention.
The forum aims at providing an interactive platform that brings together local and international parties to showcase these developments by underlining Kuwait’s economic priorities, business environment developments, investment opportunities and financing options.
The Forum will also highlight Kuwait’s role in the international arena to support development and humanitarian efforts and the future steps that Kuwait will take to advance its development path towards innovation and sustainability within the international community.
