His Highness the Prime Minister, Sheikh Jaber Al Mubarak Al Sabah received the Minister of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA), H.E. Dr. Yousef Al-Ali, along with the Director General of KDIPA, Sheikh Dr. Meshaal Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah, and Sheikh Abdullah Al Sabah, Director of One Stop Shop Department at KDIPA, accompanied by high-ranking representatives from General Electric (GE), Mr. Steve Bolze, President and CEO of GE Power, Mr. Joe Mastrangelo, President and CEO of Gas Power Systems for GE Power, and Mr. Joseph Anis, President and CEO of GE Energy in the Middle East and Africa, on October 13th, 2016 at Al Seef Palace.
H.H. the Prime Minister praised KDIPA’s efforts in attracting direct investments and projects with added value to the economy, such as GE launching the first state-of-the-art center outside the United States of America, which provides the latest innovations and research in the energy sector.
The GE delegation presented to His Highness about the Center’s simulation systems and laboratories for testing and finding appropriate solutions so as to achieve the goals of the Center and KDIPA in transferring technology and knowledge, training and employing nationals, and small and medium-sized enterprises.
His Highness also stressed the importance of providing university staff and students with the opportunity to train on power generation processes and methodologies, and all relevant technical aspects.
