KDIPA along with The Business Year presents ‘The Role of the Private Sector in the Future of the Kuwaiti Economy’

KDIPA along with The Business Year presents ‘The Role of the Private Sector in the Future of the Kuwaiti Economy’ held in London on June 17th, 2019.

The Event was opened by H.E. Dr. Nayef F. Al-Hajraf, Minister of Finance and Mrs.Ayse Hazir Valentin, CEO of the Business Year who gave welcoming speeches for the event. And KDIPA’s Director General Sheikh Dr. Meshaal Jaber Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah who gave a presentation discussing the Investment benefits and opportunities in Kuwait to help achieve economic diversification.

The Event consisted of three panels focusing on showcasing ‘The Role of the Private Sector in the Future of the Kuwaiti Economy’.

The first panel focused on The Increased Diversification of the Kuwaiti Economy as a Fuel for the Future and the panelists also included Mr. Waleed Alsharian, CEO of Mabanee, and Osama J Bukhamseen, Executive Manager at Bukhamseen Group Holding Company, and Mr. Sylvain Broyer, Chief EMEA Economist at S&P Global Ratings.

The second panel focused on Kuwaits Financial Sector: Cornerstone of the country’s privatization and the panelists included Sheikh Ahmad Duaij Al-Sabah, Chairman at Commercial Bank of Kuwait, and Mr. Faisal Mansour Sarkhou, CEO at Kamco, and Mr. Adel Abdulwahab AlMajed, Chairman at Kuwait Banking Association, and Mr. Roger Winfield, CEO at HSBC, and Mr. David Walker, Head of Public Sector at Citi, and Mr. Han Lee, Regional Director at The Business Year.

The third panel discussed Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship which included panelists Mr.Fahad AlSharekh, Founder & General Partner at TechInvest Coroporation, and Mr. Athbi AlEnezi, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at Just Clean, and Mr.Abdullah AlMutawa, Chairman at Carriage, and Mrs. Henadi AlSaleh, Chairperson at Agility.

In Addition the event also had a company dialogue by Mr.Mazin Saad Al Nahedh, Group CEO at Kuwait Financial House and and Interview with Mr.Waleed AlKhashti, Chief Corporate Communications and Relations Officer at Zain Kuwait.

Guest Speakers attending the event were Baroness Morris of Bolton, UK Trade Envoy to the State of Kuwait, and Sir Roger Gifford, Chair of Green Finance Initiative, and Mr.Vomic Shah, Head of Origination at UK Export.

Closing the event with a keynote address was Mr.Philip Kotsis, Partner at AlTamimi & Company and Mr.Paul Loomis, Regional Director of The Business Year.
