KDIPA along with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & The Business Year (TBY) presents ‘Kuwait Investment Outreach” celebrating 125 years of Kuwaiti-British partnership, held in London, UK, on March 5th, 2024.
The Event was opened by H.E. Dr. Anwar Ali Al-Muthaf, Minister of Finance and Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investments, Lord Tariq Ahmed, British Minister of State for the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia and the UN, Mrs. Ayse Hazir Valentin, CEO of the Business Year who gave welcoming speeches for the event.
The Event consisted of three panels focusing on showcasing ‘Enhancing Bilateral Kuwaiti-British Investments’.
The first panel focused on Finance & Investments – Enhancing bilateral investments and the panelists also included Mr. Faisal Sarkhou, Group CEO of Kamco Invest, Sheikh Ahmad Al-Duaij Al-Sabah, Chairman of the Kuwait Banking Association (KBA) & Chairman of the Commercial Bank of Kuwait, Mr. Alastair King, Founder and Chairman at Naisbitt King Asset Management Limited, and Mrs. Joanna Mobed, Co-Head, Global Origination at the UK Export Finance.
The second panel focused on 125 years of Kuwait-British Partnership and the panelists included Lord Dominic Johnson, British Minister of State for Investment in the Department for Business and Trade, H.E. Sadiq Marafie, Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs, H.E. Bader Al-Awadi, Ambassador to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, H.E. Belinda Lewis, British Ambassador to the State of Kuwait.
The third panel discussed Technological advancement and digital innovation which included panelists Mr. Esam Al-Kheshnam, CEO of Knet, Mr. Robert Barnes, Co-CEO at BPX Digital Securities Exchange, Mr. David Rutter, CEO of R3, and Mrs. Juliette Wilcox, Cyber Security Ambassador for UK Defence and Security Exports, Department for Business and Trade.
In addition to a keynote speech addressed to the audience of the event by Mr. Abdulwahab Issa Al-Rushood, Acting Group CEO of Kuwait Finance House, and Mr. Abdulrazzaq T. Razooqi, Senior Vice President, Advisory and M&A at Markaz.
Closing the event with a keynote address was Mrs. Ioana Popa, Director of The Business Year Middle East.
