Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) was elected to hold the Presidency position of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) for the period (2025-2027), represented by Mr. Mohamed Mulla Yaqoub, Assistant Director General for Business Development at KDIPA, who held the post of the Vice Presidency in WAIPA during the period (2023-2025).
KDIPA as Chair of WAIPA, expressed its commitment to continuing a collaborative approach within WAIPA’s governance framework and ongoing initiatives, to further enhance cooperation and communication among investment promotion agencies worldwide in pursuit of common goals.
These elections took place by WAIPA’s General Assembly on October 21st, 2025, during the 3-day WAIPA 29th World Investment Conference (WIC), held in Sharjah, UAE.
KDIPA was represented by Mr. Mohamed Yousef Mulla Yaqoub, Assistant Director General for Business Development Affairs, along with Mr. Bader Al-Jadi, Director of Promotional Activities, Mrs. Shaikha Al-Hashem, Head of Planning & Development Section, Bader Al-Neghaimshi, from Planning & Development Section, Abdullah Al-Kandari, Head of Procurement & Tenders Section, Mrs. Khoshou Al-Refaei, from Investor Services Section, and Ms. Nouf Al-Gharabali, from Commination Section.
WAIPA was established in 1995 in Geneva, Switzerland, as a global non-profit organization to provide a reference point for the member national and sub-national investment promotion agencies (IPAs) to cooperate, share experiences, facilitate data exchange, and nurture talents, to support their efforts in attracting a rising share of quality FDI that drives sustainable growth and fosters prosperity.
