Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) organized an orientation program for trainees of the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) on January 29th, 2017 at KDIPA’s headquarters. The program was opened with a presentation by Ms. Amal Al Fassam, Head of the Fatwa and Legal Opinion Section, and Mr. Amr Wageeh, Legal Advisor, addressing the main elements of Law No. 116 of 2013, while Mr. Barjas Al Hajri, Director of Administrative Development and Training Department, explained the organizational structure of KDIPA and tasks for various administrative units. Sheikh Abdullah Al Sabah, Director of One Stop Shop Department, presented an overview on KDIPA’s investment operations, along with the advantages and exemptions granted to investors, while Mr. Mohamed Yaqoub, Assistant Director General of Business Development, explained KDIPA’s business development pertaining to promotional activities, economic zones, and streamlining the business environment. The orientation program concluded with a presentation on Kuwait’s investment climate given by Ms. Mona Bseiso, Economic Consultant.
