Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) in partnership with the Financial Times Group (FT Live and fDi Intelligence) presented digitally the third edition of Kuwait Investment Outreach Roadshow “Investing in Kuwait – Capitalizing on Transformation”, held on 9 December 2020.
The KIO online event agenda comprised on two panel discussions and three fireside chats that focused on highlighting Kuwait’s key economic and investment developments as well as its competitive advantages.
KDIPA was represented by its Director General, H.E. Sheikh Dr. Meshaal Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah, who gave the opening remarks alongside Mr. Jacopo Dettoni, Editor at fDi Intelligence, and both participated as well in the first panel discussion titled “Focus on the New Kuwait” alongside two other panelists including Mrs. Henadi Al Saleh, Chairperson at Agility, and Mr. Helmut Von Struve, CEO at Siemens Middle East and the UAE.
The second panel discussion was titled “Kuwait’s Capital Markets and Economic Development”, the panelists included Mrs. Noura Al Abdulkareem, Head of Markets at Boursa Kuwait, Mr. Firas Al Oda Deputy Director General for Finance & Investment at Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), and Mr. M.R. Raghu, Executive Vice President of Research at Markaz, and Mrs. Silvia Pavoni, Economics Editor at The Banker.
The Roadshow also included three Fireside chats, the first one titled: The Middle East Economic Outlook presented by Mr. Farouk Soussa, MENA Economist at Goldman Sachs International and Mr. Alex Irwin-Hunt, Global Markets Editor, fDi Intelligence; the second fireside chat was on “Kuwait’s Digital Payments Revolution”, presented by Mr. Shashank Singh, Country Manager for VISA Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Qatar. The last Fireside chat titled: Investing in Kuwait’s future was presented by Mr. Abdulwahab Issa Al Rushood, Acting Group Chief Executive Officer and Group Chief Treasury Officer, Kuwait Finance House alongside Mr. Alex Irwin-Hunt, Global Markets Editor at fDi Intelligence.
