Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA), participated in the Kuwait Huawei Forum, dubbed Kuwait Huawei Day, which was themed ‘Leading New ICT: The Road to Digital Transformation’ and took place at the Four Seasons Hotel, Kuwait, on December 18, 2017.
This forum aimed to raise awareness of the role of ICT in driving digital transformation across numerous industries in line with Kuwait’s national development agenda and also served as a platform to announce the winners of Huawei’s ICT Skill Competition, a global nation- wide championship launched for the first time in Kuwait this year in strategic partnership with KDIPA to increase the digital fluency of tomorrow’s technological leaders.
KDIPA was represented by Mr. Mohammed Yousef Yaqoub, Assistant Director General for Business Development, who gave the opening speech at the forum and also awarded the winners of Huawei’s ICT Skill Competition.
As a strategic partner to the Huawei ICT Skill Competition, KDIPA also participated in the judging of the student’s final ICT Skill Competition presentations. Mr. Mohammed AlOtaibi, head of IT, along with Ms. Fatma AlSabah, head of PR, participated in the judging panel of the final presentations which built up to Huawei Day 2017 award ceremony.
The winners Ms. Zainab Al Baqsami, Mr. Saad Al Sheetan and Mr. Khaled Al Mutairi will be representing Kuwait in the global championship that will take place in Huawei’s Headquarters in Shenzhen, China between 23 to 27 December. They will also receive training or employment opportunities at Huawei.
