Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) participated in the Kuwait National ICT Indicators Forum 2017 organized by Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT) and International Data Corporation (IDC) that took place on Monday December 4th 2017 at CAIT’s premises. KDIPA was represented by Mr. Abdul Aziz Esmail, IT Department, Mr. Fawaz Al-Mughrabi, Planning & Competitiveness Department, and Mrs. Mona S. Bseiso, Economic Consultant.
The forum presented the roadmap towards Digital Transformation of Kuwait in view of its National Vision 2035 and the pillars of NewKuwait. Key presentations were given on Kuwait’s Journey towards a Digital Society and Economy by CAIT highlighting the findings of primary research conducted on Kuwait telecommunications infrastructure and access, regulatory environment and e-services as well as implication to business, and a recommendation to consider ICT a strategic pillar. The other keynote speech was presented by IDC on the Emergence of a Smart Nation harnessing third platform technologies and in view of National Vision and support the innovation ecosystem. The forum also included holding two panel sessions on the Rise of the Digital Government, and Building a Digital Society, and concluded with recommendations for the way forward.
