Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) visited Beijing in line with the Memorandum of Understanding between KDIPA and the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China on cooperation in the field of free and economic zones, in cooperation with the Embassy of the State of Kuwait in Beijing, the capital of the People’s Republic of China, during March 23-24, 2025.
This visit included two meetings, the first meeting with Mr. Liu Jie, Deputy Director General of the West Asia and Africa Department of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce at the headquarters of the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, in the presence of Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Dakhil, Counsellor of the Embassy of the State of Kuwait to China, during which they exchanged views on cooperation in free zones and economic zones between the two countries.
The delegation held the second meeting with Beijing E-Town zone officials led by Mr. Wang Qi, Deputy Director of the Trade and Finance Department of the zone, Mr. Li Guowang, Deputy Director of Social Work Department, Mr. Wang Ying, Deputy Director of Business Environment Construction Bureau, and Mr. Zhao Ruochen, 10th Grade Organizer, Organization and Personnel Department, where they reviewed the legal and regulatory framework of the zone and its working mechanisms. The delegation visited the Beijing Economic and Technological Zone and was given a tour of the latest technological innovations including a self-driving car experience. During the tour, JJC Technology Co. Ltd. gave a comprehensive presentation on its activities and technological achievements.
KDIPA was represented by Mrs. Reem Al-Shaya, Director of the Legal Affairs Department, who headed the visit, Sheikha Fatma Al-Sabah, Director of the Public Relations and Media Department, Mrs. Farah Al-Ojairi, Technical Operations Section, and Mrs. Hessa Al-Wuhaib, Land Allocation Affairs Section.
