7-May-2012, Kuwait Foreign Investment Bureau (KFIB) participated in the Second Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) and exhibition held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister of Dubai during the period of 1 – 3 May, 2012, convened at Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre. The exhibition was inaugurated by HH Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Governor of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai International Financial Centre. The conference was attended by more than 3,000 dignitaries, investors, and project promoters from 60 countries.
Sheikha Lubna Bint Khalid Al Qasimi, UAE Minister of Foreign Trade addressed the conference audience with the opening remarks emphasizing the importance of the event as a platform to promote trade relations and enhance cross border foreign direct investment (FDI). The conference theme was “Financing Possibilities in Emerging and Frontier Markets”. The conference agenda utilized various schemes including ministerial panel discussions, plenary speeches, executive roundtables, keynote sessions, regional focus sessions, and parallel country workshop. More than 400 B2B meetings were registered between local investors and officials and their counterparts from participating countries.
The AIM accompanied exhibition displayed booths for around 40 countries including Kuwait, represented by KFIB delegate. Several interested parties, investors, representatives of international media, and other investment promotion agencies visited KFIB booth, and copies of KFIB marketing kit and brochures were handed over. The advisor of the Kuwaiti Consulate General of the State of Kuwait in Dubai, Dr. Khalid Al-Mutairi had also visited the booth.
