4- April- 2013 , Kuwait Foreign Investment Bureau (KFIB) participated in the second Global Free Trade & Special Economic Zones Exhibition and Summit held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia during the period 25th – 27th March, 2012. The event witnessed the participation of 450 delegates from various regions in the world including CEOs of l international firms, interested investors, FDI consultants, developers, representatives from free zones and economic zones, as well as investment promotion agencies, and media.
The summit program included a key note speech provided by the Deputy Director General of WTO, 8 sessions over 2 days with 17 panelists and lecturers covering topics related to role of free zones in economic development, emerging trends in free zones, attracting FDI into free zones, infrastructure development in free zones; two workshops covering Halal Trade & Logistics, and FDI & Site Selection Methodology; and a site visit was organized to Iskandar, the renowned Malaysian Free zone. The accompanied exhibition provided more than 25 trade exhibitors including KFIB booth, where interested visitors were welcomed by the KFIB delegation, who responded to inquires, and distributed brochures and promotional material that showed role of KFIB, its services, and incentives and guarantees under Kuwait FDI Law No.8/2001.
