13 – Jan – 2013, Kuwait Foreign Investment Bureau (KFIB) participated in the 2nd Kuwait Investment Forum held on January 12-13, 2013 at Kuwait Sheraton Hotel under the theme Investment Attraction – Investing in Energy.
A speech was given by Ms. Manal Jaber, Manager, Investors Service Department, about KFIB establishment and its services, incentives and guarantees provided under FDI Law No. 8/2001, and highlights of the Bureau’s achievements reflected in attracting an estimated KD 1.7 billion, during the period 2003-2011, of which KD 600 million was approved, mainly in the industrial sector( 90%), particularly in the Petrochemicals industries, in addition to the establishment of a couple of branches of international foreign banks. Furthermore, noting that the Education and Training Sector has been recently added to the list of economic sectors that the foreign investor may undertake in the State of Kuwait, making them a total of 14 open sectors.
In conclusion, Ms. Jaber thanked the organizers and reiterated that KFIB is passing through a consolidation phase to enhance competencies of professional conduct, after which an integrated marketing campaign will be launched for branding Kuwait as an attractive investment Hub
