Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) was elected to hold the Vice Presidency position of the Steering Committee of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) for the period (2023– 2025), represented by Mr. Mohamed Mulla Yaqoub, Assistant Director General for Business Development Affairs at KDIPA, who held the post of the executive director for the MENA region in WAIPA Steering Committee during the period (2021-2023).
As Vice President of the Steering Committee of WAIPA KDIPA looks to continue to support WAIPA’s governance system and existing endeavors to promote cooperation and understanding amongst IPA’s globally to attain the intended objectives.
These elections took place by WAIPA’s General Assembly, on December 11th, 2023, during the 3-day WAIPA 27th World Investment Conference (WIC), held in New Delhi, India. KDIPA was represented by Mr. Mohamed Yousef Mulla Yaqoub, Assistant Director General for Business Development Affairs, along with Sheikha. Fatma AlSabah, Director of Public Relations & Media and Mr. Ali Ghareeb, Investors Targeting Section at the Investment Promotion Department.
WAIPA was established in 1995 in Geneva, Switzerland, as a global non-profit organization to provide a reference point for the member national and sub-national investment promotion agencies (IPAs) to cooperate, share experiences, facilitate data exchange, and nurture talents, to support their efforts in attracting a rising share of quality FDI that drives sustainable growth and fosters prosperity.
