28- April- 2013 ,Kuwait Foreign Investment Bureau (KFIB) participated in the EU-GCC Invest Symposium held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on Sunday April 28, 2013. This event was a joint initiative carried out by the Association of European Chambers of Commerce (Euro-Chambers), the German Emirati Joint Council for Industry and Commerce, the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Saudi Arabia and Yemen, and the Federation of GCC Chambers, with the objective to raise awareness, to promote understanding of the investment climate in EU-GCC regions, and to start a constructive investment dialogue.
During the conference, the results of a survey about European and GCC Investors with existing direct investments or in the process of establishing one in these two regions were revealed. The findings have shown that limitation on foreign ownership is the major issue for EU investors, whereas for the GCC investors the main issue was the cumbersome visa policies.
KFIB representative Mr. Abdullah Sabah AL Sabah participated in the Panel discussion, providing an overview of Kuwait investment climate and its unique attributes, FDI Law No.8/2001 benefits and guarantees, and the services offered by KFIB to facilitate investment as well as shedding light on recent developments.
