25 May, 2015: His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah received a delegation from IBM global company on May 25, 2015 with the attendance of H.E. Deputy Prime Minister Minister of Finance Anas Khaled Al Saleh, H.E. Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, and Sheikh Dr. Meshaal Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah, Director General of KDIPA, and Sheikh Abdullah Al Sabah, Head of Licensing & Investment Registry at KDIPA. The visit came at the occasion of granting the first investment license from KDIPA to the US registered IBM ME to establish a 100% foreign owned Kuwait IBM company, benefiting from the incentives and exemptions granted by new direct investment Law No. 116 of 2013. The IBM delegation included Dr. William R. La Fontaine, General Manager, Research & Intellectual Property, IBM Corporation, Mr. Amr Refaat, General Manager, IBM ME & Pakistan, and Mr. Khaled Talaat, Territory Manager, Kuwait, IBM ME.
