November 30, 2014: Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) is pleased to announce the formal launching of its new logo that is duly applied to all its official papers and publications, promotional materials, as well as in its website and social media. The official logo is intended to be simple, properly colored, flexible, and designed to reflect the core identity of KDIPA and its expected role. The logo depicted Al-Boom Al-Saffar, the ship that was used in long distance sea commercial and business trips, which is largely concomitant with KDIPA’s goals and mandate in attracting investors worldwide. The logo storyline is truly inspired by Kuwait’s vivid history, emancipated into building a brighter future. The process for selecting KDIPA’s logo and bringing it to the aspired standards passed through well thought, consecutive, and transparent stages. It all started when KDIPA placed an advertisement in the local press as well as on its website, assigning a dedicated e-mail, and detailing the required specifications and intellectual property rights conditions. The competition lasted for a 3-week duration for making all the submissions. A Panel of Judges was formulated by three independent professional personalities from academia, arts, and communications fields. They collectively reviewed the 385 designs received surpassing expectations, and serving the initial purpose of enhancing public engagement and awareness on KDIPA and its objectives. The panel of judges diligently assessed the designs based on a combined artistic and objective criteria, and selected a short list of 5 designs, which were presented to KDIPA’s Board of Directors, whereby the Board chose the winning logo design. KDIPA held a ceremony to honor the winner of the logo competition and the Panel of Judges. From thereon, KDIPA proceeded to undertake the needed measures for ensuring the application of the new logo.
